Demon

808 hp! This 2018 Dodge Demon came through one of the dealerships I help with their online inventory pictures. Each time its completely random, luck of the draw for what units come through. When this beast showed up, I was giddy. I’d never driven anything this powerful before - the car is capable of doing a frickin’ wheelie! I kept all 4 wheels on the ground and still enjoyed the heck out of it. Took the Demon out to stage it, got the shots, then neatly tucked it back in place. Ear to ear smile the whole time.

Ford, what have you done?

That’s what I thought when I read the headline saying Ford launched a “Men’s Only Edition” Explorer SUV. How could Ford have gotten so clueless? Do they have any idea how badly they’ve alienated themselves? Then I took a breath and read the article. I’d recommend you do, too. Ford celebrated Women’s History Month by honoring the contributions women have made to the auto industry. The advancements in vehicle design and technology from women have made our modern machines drivable, safe, and relatively comfortable. Check out this article to learn the specific features on your ride that would not be there if it weren’t for these women. I was laughing trying to imagine driving my car without these features. Thank you to all women who made our modern vehicles what they are.

How'd They Do That?

2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo. I jumped in this beast, pushed the start button and expected to hear thunder and lightning. All I got was silence. Took me a second to realize its 100% fully electric. The turbo part still confuses me. Lightning minus the thunder.

Full Circle Realized

As a kid, I had posters of exotic cars. I dreamed of driving those cars one day. As an adult becoming a photographer, I dreamed of getting PAID to drive exotic cars and take sweet shots of them.😁 Both happened Thursday when a rare gem came in. The car, the experience were every bit as awesome as I’d hoped it would be. To complete the circle, I’ll take the pics I shot and turn them into a poster for the next kid to dream about.

Big Shout Out to Landmark Ford

I have had the pleasure of serving Landmark Ford as their inventory photographer for the last 7 years. I do not take a single day of that for granted. They have been an incredible organization to work for over the years. Landmark has remained consistent in their quality of vehicles and customer service while adapting to changing times. This is a short video of their display at the 2022 Portland International Auto Show held at the Oregon Convention Center. I look forward to serving them for many more years to come!

Portland International Auto Show is back!

It felt great to be waking up at 4am to shoot cars! No, really. I was thrilled to be heading to the Oregon Convention Center to shoot the autos at the 2022 Portland International Auto Show. I had not been to a car show since the start of covid. Coming to this one felt like coming home. I loved being surrounded by the machines. Between the power of some, the lines of others, the materials, the tech, the colors - the PIAS does not disappoint. Even with the reduced amount of units being showcased due to chip shortages (down to one floor of autos vs 3 in the past), it still felt like being a kid in a candy store. Go see it for yourself.

Morning has broken.

Portland marked its 60th night in a row of protests followed by riots last night. Our city feels like its in the middle of a transformation. What the end product will look like is anyone’s guess. Will all the uncertainty the pandemic has brought and all the upheaval of the protests, I’ve been ejoying the brief morning peace on the lots. The morning light has been creating beauty that I hope others have enjoyed as well.
